Some decades ago, specifically in the 70s and 80s, a brand of powdered milk that stirred the market was Nido, produced by Nestle Nigeria Plc.
The brand did so well that it earned the respect of pupils and students in the higher institutions to such extent that if you did not have a tin of Nido in your closet, then you would be termed a pauper while those who were opportuned to have it were termed the Lords.
The story may not be the same today because performing and market leading brands such as Cowbell, Hollandia, Dano and Peak have all gone haywire, not giving Nido any chance play.
The question now is though Nido still exists in the space but what is its share of the powdered milk market?
