The managing director of Hamonee Concepts Limited, Mr Kayode Oluwasona has been elected as the 19th president of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN, at just concluded 43rd Annual General Meeting/Congress of the association which took place at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Akwa Ibom State.
Also elected at the AGM were, Mr. Ikechi Odigbo of DDB, Vice President, Mr. Wale Akintunde of Centrespread, Treasurer, Mr. Steve Babaeko of X3m Ideas, Publicity Secretary and Mr. Onuora Molokwu, Assistant Publicity Secretary.
The AGM themed, “Communication as a tool for National Development” had keynote speakers such as Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, Managing Director/CEO, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Mr. Udeme Ufot (MFR), Group Managing Director/CEO, SO & U Limited.
The high point of the AGM was the election of new executives and the induction of new members. The gathering provided a platform for a robust discourse and created avenue for delegates and invited guests to interact.
The event also witnessed presentation of membership certificates to six newly inducted members namely: Red Uhuru Limited, Up in the Sky Limited, Brandzone Consulting LLC, Adeptus Limited and the Thiink Shop Limited.
The congress was declared opened on Friday, 20th May, 2016 by His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State. His deputy, Mr. Moses Frank Ekpo was the Special Guest of Honour during an “Evening with the Legends”.
Other dignitaries at the opening ceremony included APCON Registrar, Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi and the Association’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr. Ayo Owoborode.
The three-day event was rounded off with a formal dinner on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Akwa Ibom State.
