As the curtain falls on the entry deadline for the 2016 Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) Poster Awards, advertising agencies have intensive effort to beat the deadline to give their respective product and service brands the opportunity to shine at the 10th edition of the industry first reward platform.
Among the agencies that have shown interest are Insight Publicis, Lowe Lintas, LTC JWT, Cosse TTL, Bluebird Communication, Centrespread, X3M Ideas and Noah’s Ark among several others.
It was gathered that entries from telecommunication, banking, insurance, information communication and technology, food and beverages and alcoholic brands have dominated the exercise. Meanwhile, there is so much anticipation on the regulatory agency of the year award category, which is introduced in this 10 anniversary.
According to sources within OAAN, the association has received well over 70 entries as the entry closes today Thursday 23rd June 2016.”
It is also gathered that the committee, which comprises representatives from Advertisers Association of Nigeria, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Brand Journalists’ Association of Nigeria, Department of Mass Communication of University of Lagos, Department of Graphic Art of Yaba College of Technology, Consumer Protection Council, and OAAN will be seating this week to meet the June 30th 2016 awards night in Lagos.
The annual event is usually a period where the advertising sub-sector use to rewards creativity, innovation and style in the creative advertising particularly as it concern out-of-home.
Mr. Obi Nnaobi, Publicity Secretary of the Association, said other categories where awards are available for grab are Alcoholic drinks, Non- alcoholic drinks, public Service/real estate, automobile, household products, pharmaceuticals, and information technology as well as the grand prix while a new category-regulatory agency of the year, has been introduced.
Explaining the theme of this year’s awards day, which is ”Strengthening Partnerships”, Mr Obi said it aimed at showing the association’s appreciation of unparalleled creativity in the industry as well as creating a forum where stakeholders in the marketing communications sector would interact in a beautiful and relaxed environment.
