The Lagos State Chapter, the leading branch of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, today announced the programmes marking the Lagos Public Relations Week; a weeklong experiential platform for the public relations, communications professionals and stakeholders.
The order of events of this edition of the Lagos PR Week, themed: Boosting Competitiveness & Inclusive Growth through Communication, is scheduled to hold between Friday, 18 – Thursday, 24, May 2018.
The Week will kick-off with the pre-event Cocktail and Networking Mixer, themed: Relishing Professional Company, at Chain Reactions, 72A, Oduduwa Way G.R.A., Ikeja, Lagos on Friday, May 18, 2018 and its geared towards strengthening mutually beneficial relationships with the most influential stakeholders.
Chief Alex Akinyele Charity Match will feature the SUPERSPORTS All-Stars and the Best of the Institute, at the Astroturf pitch, Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The match tagged: Champions of Love, is intended to create awareness, acceptance, respect and support for people living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). There will also be a Health Check-up and Aerobics for participants.
Members of the Chapter will hit the campus in a Roadshow and Tour, tagged: Connecting with the Youth, of the Mass Communications Department, Yaba College of Technology on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. It is intended to woo new talents for the public relations practice and promote ethical communication.
The Masterclass in Digital Communication for Government is set to sharpen the skill-set of the Public Affairs Officers of the Lagos State Government with the tools to harness the opportunities in digital media to build a wholesome reputation for the State Government. It will hold at the LTV Multipurpose Hall, LTV Events Centre, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, May 21, 2018.
The Lagos Public Relations Week will climax with the Leadership Lecture featuring the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the Chief Host and Founder/Chairman, Phillips Consulting Group, Mr. Foluso Phillips; an industrial economists and chartered accountant, with tremendous experience in finance, business administration, general management and organisation development committed to the African Renaissance, delivering the lecture on the thematic campaign at the Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
Distinguished Panel of Discussants include the, Chief Executive Officer, Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation, Ms Osayi Alile; General Manager, External Affairs & Communications, Seplat Petroleum Development Company, Dr. Chioma Nwachuku; Regional Director/MD Nigeria, AfricaPractice R&B, Mr. Tim Newbold (British); and Chief Consultant/Lead Strategist, TPT International, Mr. Tokunbo Modupe.
Expected at this lecture are public relations and communications professionals, economists, legislators, management experts and business leaders from across different sectors and industries in sub-Sahara Africa, civil servants and other stakeholders including the media.
The Annual General Meeting and election of new executives who will lead the affairs of the Chapter is also billed to hold at the same venue after the lecture.
