Nigerian mega rich businessman and Africa’s richest person, Aliko Dangote fell 25 places on the Bloomberg Billionaires rating this week as his fortune fell 3.7 billion dollars dropping him to No 71 on the Bloomberg ranking down from No 46 last week.
It was gathered that a majority of Dangote’s wealth put at 12.7 billion dollars is got from a 91 percent stake in Dangote Cement Plc which lost 2 percent in trading this week. This drop in wealth resulted from equity markets globally.
Meanwhile, the richest European, Amancio Ortega, French billionaire Bernard Arnault and Amazon.com founder, Jeff Bezos led the chart with respective daily gains of 2 billion dollars, 1.4 billion dollars and 1.1 billion dollars.
Another major drop in fortunes is that of Sheldon Adelson, the Las Vegas based Casino owner who dropped 5.6 percent.
Adelson is the world’s 29th richest person who lost 1.1 billion dollars this week.
