Yinka Adepoju, a resourceful marketing communication practitioner with sound knowledge of outdoor advertising in Nigeria, has been reappointed as the Director General of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), a position he once held before he paved way for Babajide Fagade who later left for other ventures.
It was gathered that the tested professional who cut his teeth with The Vanguard newspaper as a special projects expert and later with Media Link Outdoor Advertising Limited was re-appointed by the Governor Abiola Ajimobi led government recently.
Adepoju, who rose to the pinnacle of outdoor advertising profession as a former Vice-President of Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) is a man who knows the nitty-gritty of the practice and management of outdoor advertising, hence his re-appointment by the Senator Ajimobi’s led government that wants to leave no stone unturned in a bid to sanitise the practice of outdoor advertising in Oyo State.
To some of the industry stakeholders and analysts who learnt about Adepoju’s re-appointment, this is a welcome development for the Governor to have approved the return of Adepoju who to them is an experienced and highly passionate professional of no mean repute.
Yinka Adepoju who has been in advertising since 1986 attended the prestigious Government College, Apata Ganga, Ibadan, Oyo State and later proceeded to The Polytechnic, Ibadan where he studied Mass Communication and graduated in 1985 after which participated in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps with Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Lagos and Akure respectively.
After his NYSC assignment, he joined Vanguard Media Limited, later made a formal foray into advertising when in 1987. He joined St George’s Publicity Limited for a very short period until 1988 when he moved to Babu Akinbobola and Kole Ademulegun anchored Media Link Advertising Limited, Ilupeju, Lagos where he started as a Senior Client Service Executive till he later became the Commercial Manager and later ended up as the company’s first General Manager.

A fellow of APCON and outstanding former EXCO member of OAAN, Adepoju who later formed Royal Communications Limited after resigning his appointment with Media Link Limited, was in 2011 appointed by Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Executive Governor of Oyo State to help plan, develop and implement the structures and policies that will grow the business of outdoor advertising in the State.
