The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) on the 3rd of April 2020 at its Executive Council Meeting unanimously appointed Mrs. Bunmi Adeniba as member of the global leadership team.
Adeniba, as the Acting President of The Advertisers Association of Nigeria, will take up the role Regional Vice President overseeing the Africa Operations of the WFA.
The WFA regional Vice President is responsible for coordinating the regional network of Advertisers in Africa.
Speaking on the appointment Stephan Loerke CEO of the WFA said that Adeniba as the head of their Africa operations would drive the WFA programs in Africa, which essentially was to help advertisers improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their marketing communications through bench marking, and sharing of knowledge, experiences and insights.
He said that the WFA champions and defends marketers’ interests, helps set standards for responsible marketing communications worldwide, and encourages leadership initiatives, which go beyond compliance with existing industry standards.
“One of the key focus for Adeniba will be to support the SWFA in creating responsible advertising standards to boost consumer confidence in Africa” Stephan said.
Adeniba in her response, said that she was honored to have been nominated for the role, she said The Advertisers Association of Nigeria ADVAN is set to drive initiatives which will improve the value and productivity of marketing communications and create increased value for advertisers.
She assured the WFA team that ADVAN would certainly lead the push for responsible and effective marketing communications across Africa.
Adeniba currently oversees the Homecare division of Unilever across Ghana and Nigeria. She also sits on the Home Care Leadership Team for Africa.
Bunmi is passionate about youth and women empowerment and raising phenomenal leaders in the marketplace. She holds several formal and informal corporate coaching for mid-level and career starters.
Bunmi holds membership with National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), the Institute of Directors (IOD)and the American Society of Quality (ASQ)
Adeniba alongside other top Marketing professionals across the world will steer the affairs of the global advertiser body for the next one year
The World Federation of Advertisers -WFA is the only global organization representing the common interests of marketers. It brings together the biggest markets and marketers worldwide, representing roughly 90% of all the global marketing communications spend, almost US$ 900 billion annually.
