In recognition of creative writing as an invaluable talent worthy of reward, JLF a non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation has announced a writing competition tagged “JLF Writing Competition”.

According to the organisers, “The competition is instituted for the purpose of identifying talents in literature with the intent to evaluate and maintain the success of each competitor by selecting the best.

The competition which opened from November 22, 2016, will close by December 5th, and the results and prices will be given by January 20th, 2017. The contest is open to all ages, religion or social background. All synopses are to be uploaded on www.jlffoundation.org

Participants are required to pick a story, chapter or verse from the bible and write a synopsis into present day or the future in two weeks. The judges would each pick the best 6 synopses and shortlisted contestants would be given 2 weeks to fully develop their synopsis in either of Short film, Full length feature film or Mini Series.

The panel of judges is made up of seasoned and accomplished professionals in the creative industry like Anthony KAN Onwordi, renowned actor and multi-award winning filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, writer and award winning creative entrepreneur, Victoria Thomas and Wana Wana, multimedia journalist, writer and filmmaker.

The winners will receive various cash prizes from N50, 000 to N150,000 and a chance to be mentored by the judges.
