Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) in partnership with the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) has concluded plans to host the 2018 edition of Pan African Media Research Organisation (PAMRO) Conference in Lagos.

The event is scheduled for Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th August 2018 at Radisson Blu Hotel,  GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Pan African Media Research Organisation (PAMRO) is an organisation of active Media Researchers and their Clients, Media-owners, Marketing Communication practitioners, and Advertising Agencies in Africa.

It was established in 1999 to encourage highest quality & professionalism in the practice and use of media research in respective participating African countries in accordance to global best practices. Patterned after professional bodies such as the World Association of Research Professionals (ESOMAR) and Marketing Research Society (MRS), it operates as an organisation not for gain and is headquartered in South Africa.

Stating some of the benefits of participating in the conference, the organizers of the conference stated that it will be the “Central point for accessing media information across Africa – website contacts and sources as well as Live Data for public domain information, Networking contact point for people in the media and media research organizations, Business networking opportunity and sharing of best practices and information through regional sessions and annual conferences.”

Also it will serve as the “Central point for information updates through the website, e-mails, newsletters, regional activities, etc; Regulation of Media Research Practice across Africa and Stands as avenue for business contacts, jobs and projects referrals across African markets.”

Nigeria’s Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and research agencies, regulators and players are expected to grace the event.

“So, it is our strong belief that APCON, NiMRA, MIPAN, ADVAN, NPAN, BON, OAAN & other relevant industry bodies should all come together as one to host memorably this annual event which is rotated within African countries having active & consistent PAMRO members.” The statement reads.

Recall, last year edition which marked 18th edition, the conference took place at the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa and was an overwhelming success that saw more than 150 advertising, communications and media professionals from 22 countries on the continent and abroad gather to debate, network and reflect on the past challenges year’s and achievements.
