As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, Airtel Nigeria in association with Rotary Club of Lagos Island, recently organized a blood donation initiative in Lagos as a response to the urgent need for increased blood reserves in the country.
Over 50 employees of the telco turned out to participate in the humanitarian initiative in line with the company’s vision of creating positive impact in communities where it operates.
Airtel says the partnership with Rotary Club is a testimony to its commitment to save lives and empower the underprivileged, as it noted that one pints of blood can save three lives.
Airtel hopes that this gesture will inspire other individuals and institutions to support the national initiative.
On the blood donation camp, Rta. Mamta Debrey, Secretary, Rotary Lagos Island, commented: “This initiative, for us in Rotary Club, is in line with our commitment to humanitarian service. We motivate people to save lives and we believe that Airtel shares the same desire to touch lives. So, we found a good platform to do this blood donation exercise at Airtel Headquarters.”
