To those who report events and issues in the Nigerian advertising industry, any invitation from Lanre Adisa, the Managing Director of Noah’s Ark Advertising Limited is taken very seriously.
Why? Since the creative chap founded the agency some years ago, it has not stopped grabbing the headlines for good.
The agency’s name has been a permanent feature as a top performer on the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) medals table. It has been a regular name at the annually held Cannes Advertising Festival in France. It has been winning A-List accounts in the industry.
So, to us at MARKETINGSPACE, the invitation was meant for another good story to tell. We grabbed the opportunity again, got our team of reporters on a fifteen minute trip to Ikeja GRA, Lagos on the evening of July 15, 2016. Arriving at 9, Showemimo Street in the neighbourhood where cars of various models and shapes were parked.
Was it an event to announce the opening of a new shopping mall or an auto garage? We moved in, welcomed with sonorous music blasting from the giant speakers placed on the podium tucked at a corner.
The head and Chief Creative Officer of the agency, Lanre Adisa opened the ceremony with his brief but informative remarks. He began by saying, ‘’ It was crazy at the beginning, but I spoke to two people and they said you can do it. They made me believe in this crazy idea among them is our Chairman, Mr. Kola Abiola, we say thank you. We thank Mr. Jide Olorunfemi who also believed in the dream. He facilitated our first brief from FrislandCampina.’’
‘’We started very small with a small office space, as we progress accounts started coming in. We appreciate all the guys from Indomie, Gotv, Peak Milk, Hypo and our other clients’’
Guests at the event listened to his fantastic opening remarks, some were on the queue to jostle for small chops while some were posing for photographs.
Before Adisa could hit the nail on the head, we sighted an image that resembled that of Late Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of the aborted presidential election in Nigeria in 1993. Could this be another political event? No, it was Kola Abiola, son to the late political and business giant.
Many took photographs with him and many watched him from close range. What was he doing there? He is the Chairman of Noah’s Ark Advertising Limited that just opened her new office. Congratulations to Lanre Adisa and his team on the opening of Noah’s Ark Place.
