The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, has been listed among important thought leaders in the corporate and government circles that will speak at this year’s edition of the prestigious Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference.

Ogunsanya, who was recently named African CEO of the Year by a pan African platform that recognizes customer service, innovation and excellence in Africa Telecom and Information Technology Industry, will join other panelist to discuss the theme,  “African Business: The Road Less Travelled,” at the week-long NBA conference, which will kick off on Friday, 18th August, 2017.

The 2017 NBA conference, which will hold in Lagos, will attract over 8,000 delegates and it will be opened by the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Airtel Nigeria will also play a major role as the lead sponsor of the conference, owning the event as the official telecoms and technology partner. The conference partnership will afford the telco an opportunity to contribute to the development of the legal profession as well as building a robust judiciary for the country.

According to Airtel, the conference will also offer a platform to deepen the relationship between the bar and other critical stakeholders as well as create a plethora of opportunities to brainstorm on major economic issues.

The 57th Annual General Conference of the NBA is themed with a laser focus on “African Business: Penetrating through Institution Building”.

It will bring together a cross section of pioneers and influencers drawn from government, business, professional services, academia and politics from around the globe, to anchor sessions: sharing, training and motivating, on the various facets of the theme.

With a vision fixed on the future, the conference’s aim is to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking with innovators and pace setters from around the world to inspire and build the next generation of the African Bar, starting with the NBA; but extending to other arms of development.

According to the NBA, the outcome of the Conference will be practical guide and policy recommendations that will take forward the widely accepted notion of accelerating economic development and social justice in the continent. With knowledge development and engaging debates, the Bar will be repositioned in its critical role in economic and social development by building institutions as units of stability, encouraging rule of law, and good governance.
