UNIC foundation, an NGO founded to help train individual in career and achieving academic excellence and the family members of the comedian, Chinedu Paul aka Think Twice has refuted the allegation that he is a member of the dreaded Badoo cult group.
Speaking in Lagos during a press conference jointly organised by UNIC Foundation and the family of Chinedu Paul, the president and Managing Director of UNIC foundation, Mr. Christopher Imumolen said, Paul was a member of the foundation and a basic 2 student of JTPS Joint Professionals Training and Support international.
He said that, ‘’Paul was a young man who had vision to become a manager who also like comedy and entertainment before he met his untimely death through jungle justice.
“He was macheted to death and burnt to ashes. Chinedu was an energetic and prospective man who was killed in his prime. He is on scholarship by our foundation and could not have been a member of the Badoo group. It could have been anybody. We want the government and the Police force to put an end to this jungle justice.’’
“The society must be sensitized that jungle justice is evil and vigilantes and security operatives engage for community policing should be trained to prevent innocent killings. The people of Ikorodu and at large members of the public should exercise caution in handling issues like this,” Imumolen stated.
Also speaking at the gathering, Esther Demenongu and sister of the deceased, Elizabeth Chinedu who were in tears while giving accounts of what transpired, together insisted that Chinedu Paul was not a Badoo member.
Esther noted that the killing happened at 10.35pm and not 2a.m as widely published.
“Chinedu’s car broke down at Festac and in an attempt to tow the vehicle went with his friend, Sola and mechanic Sunday, to get another vehicle CRV jeep at his residence at Odogunyan in Ikorodu. On their way out of Ikorodu, two bus-stops from his house, they were accosted by Vigilante group who saw chains and engine oil in the vehicle booth to be used to tow the broken-down vehicle. Suspecting them to be Badoo members, they were viciously matcheted to death and burnt to ashes including the vehicle”, She disclosed.

Denying the insinuation that his brother is not a Badoo cult member and he was innocently murdered by vigilante group operating the area, Chinedu’s sister, Elizabeth Chinedu broke down in tears while corroborating the statement of Esther.
“We cannot organize a burial ceremony for him because he his corpse was nowhere to be found as he and two others (the mechanic and his friend) were burnt to ashes,” she disclosed as she wept profusely.
