The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), the umbrella body for advertising professionals in Nigeria has unveiled its jury for the forthcoming 2022 Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival billed to hold in Lagos.

The 25-man list was unveiled on Monday, November 8, 2022, through a statement issued by the Chairman, Lagos Advertising Ideas Festival, Mr. Lanre Adisa in Lagos.

The jury is headed by presidents including veteran filmmaker, Femi Odugbemi, who has contributed immensely to the growth of the creative industry not only in Nigeria but Africa in general.

Other presidents include Chairperson, Advertising Standards Panel, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, Omowunmi Owodunni, Director, Insight Publicis, Ghana, Chima Okenimkpe, Creative Director, Narrative Media, Chuma Obumselu, and Chief Executive Officer, Big Cabal Media, Tomiwa Aladekomo.

The list, which is largely dominated by practitioners, also includes members from the apex regulatory agency, ARCON, and senior management officials from corporate organizations such as Guinness and Globacom.

Other members of the jury include Head, Marketing, Mainstream, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Uche Onwudiwe, Chief Executive Officer, Storytellers, Jason Nartey, Chief Digital Officer, WPP, Vikas Parlhar, Creative Director, Publicis West Africa, Luc-Emmanuel Aboussou, Chief Executive Officer, Livespot, Dare-Art Alade, Senior Brand Strategist, Dentsu Creative, Joseph Temitope, Creative Director, Team Apt Incorporation, Yemi Arawore, Creative Director, Yomi Fakile, Nitro 121, Creative Director, TBWA/Concept, Woma Efetie among others.

Speaking on the composition of the jury, the Chairman, Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival, Mr. Lanre Adisa explained that the crop of marketing communications professionals in the mix attests to the level of professionalism, transparency, and integrity that would be brought to bear in the determination of winners for the different award categories.

Adisa expressed confidence in the ability of the jury to select entries with creative excellence.

In his remarks, the President, AAAN, Mr. Steve Babaeko stated that he is optimistic that the jury will discharge their duties without any fear or favour.

Babaeko equally charged the team to be thorough in the evaluation of the entries and be fair in their decision-making process such that the selection of winners would be largely respected by stakeholders.

Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival is a brainchild of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria that seeks to recognize creative excellence, help to improve the quality of creative craft, and promote the spirit of healthy competition, applying global best practices.

The 17th edition of the LAIF award, themed “All Ideas are Welcome” is expected to be graced by marketing communications professionals from both Nigeria and Ghana.
